• Ascenders - The part of a lower case letter that extends above the body of the type

• Descenders - The part of a lower case letter that extends below the baseline

• JPG - Joint Photographic Group

• PPI - Pixels Per Inch

• DPI - Dots Per Inch

• PDF - Portable Document Format

• Reverence - Feeling or attitude of deep respect for something or someone

• Bleed - An element that extends to the edge of the page

• Negative Space - White space (an area without text or images)

• Miniscule - A lower case letter

• Touché - French word for 'touched', used in fencing to acknowledge a hit. The person who is hit would shout it. Now the term is used when someone has made a comment that out wits you or proves you wrong... Still referring to the fact that the other person won (being touched in fencing means you lose)
